He has fully satisfied for them and as a merciful and faithful high priest, he in the gospel summons us to come with that kind of assurance, with that kind of confidence, not in ourselves, not in anything that we have done or ever will do, but in all that he has done for us. That is always and forever the foremost foundation and basis for any assurance that believers may have of their acceptance and communion with God through Christ.
